Why that matters more than features
The competing approach is RDP or VNC, which connect directly and therefore require the computer to be reachable: a forwarded port or a VPN. In an office an administrator handles that. At home you handle it yourself, and most people do not.
That single difference explains the ratings gap with Microsoft's own client.
What you give up
A third party in the path. Convenience costs you routing through a German company's infrastructure. Acceptable for home use; for sensitive work, look at something self-hosted.
A program on both ends. The phone is the client; the machine you control needs AnyDesk installed too.
One warning worth repeating
The nine-digit number is access. Scam callers claiming to be your bank ask people to install AnyDesk and read it out. Give it only to someone you called yourself.
