Windows App Mobile: Microsoft's own remote desktop client

Connects to Windows over RDP with no third-party server involved. Rated 4.2 — the lowest here, and the reason is network setup, not code.

Published Редакция0+

The former Microsoft Remote Desktop under a new name. It speaks RDP — the protocol built into Windows — so no third-party server sits in the path.

Where it belongs

On a phone whose owner has a work machine an administrator set up: Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, a corporate gateway. There it is not a choice, it is the tool, and it works.

Why 4.2

RDP needs the computer to be reachable over the network. At home that means forwarding a port or running a VPN, and the reviews are full of people who did not get that far.

AnyDesk sits at 4.5 for the same job because it hides the network behind its own relay. The gap measures setup difficulty, not software quality.

Also: the RDP server ships in Windows Pro and above. Home edition does not have one.
